The Spark Joy Box - Cara Laine - Owner and Curator

Hi, I’m your curator of Joy, Cara Laine. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to spread love and light to everyone I’ve met. I know it might sound a little Pollyanna, but I fiercely believe the world desperately needs more light, love, and compassion. 

That’s a big part of why I started my first business, Cara Couture Invitations, years ago. Though Cara Couture is now retired, the spirit of why I started it lives on in the Spark Joy Box.

When COVID-19 upended our world in 2020, I felt it become even more imperative to spread love, joy, and connection to others. Starting the Spark Joy Box was one small way I could foster a sense of connection and community between people who were isolated from each other. I did it to remind others of our shared humanity – that at a fundamental level, we’re all the same – with shared experiences of heartache, desires, pain… and joy. 

You may notice hummingbirds flitting around this place; they are the bearers of love, joy, and happiness and speak to everything I want The Spark Joy Box to embody. 

I started the Spark Joy box to spread love and joy like wildfire. Even before I sent my very first box, just thinking about this business venture calmed my spirit and gave me serenity during a stressful time. It’s my hope that when you receive a box – or gift one to someone else – it will do the same for you.
