Overcoming their Impossibilities

Overcoming their Impossibilities

Description:

This episode of the podcast highlights the importance of having a software to keep children safe and prevent them from getting lost or put on the wrong bus. Tabatha Barron's app, Kicks, helps parents keep track of their children's whereabouts and sends a text message to the parent if their child is put on the wrong bus. The app works with walkers, bikers, childcare bus riders, car riders, and yellow bus riders, and also allows parents to make dismissal changes and order replacement badges. Steve and Tabatha also discussed the importance of parenting the child one has, not the child one wants, and the need for schools to use the software to keep kids safe. This episode provides an important reminder of the need to nurture children and provide them with the support they need to achieve their dreams.

Tabatha Barron is a hardworking, self-motivated mother of two young adults.  With 15+ years of engineering experience, she chose to create a platform that helps children effectively communicate
their way home from school.  The goal was to minimize the opportunity for children being left in the back of the bus sleeping or children being placed on the wrong bus and/or dropped off at the
wrong stop, this was inspired after this happened to her niece.  Tabatha believes that technology should play a larger role in organizing and improving everyday life and when used properly has
phenomenal outcomes.   She has chosen to use her personal experience and entrepreneurial journey to help support others who may not be able to help themselves.  While building and scaling
her advocacy business she noticed her experiences were not hers alone and it caused her to ask questions about the process.  Instead of following the rules of engagement as directed by everyone
who never walked in her shoes, she assembled a group of female entrepreneurs to build a tribe of support.

Tabatha is a firm believer that breaking the bias and the stereotypes start with not following the masses but following your dream.  Your vision is your dream, never compromise it for someone else’s.
